About the shop

We’re fulfilling orders through Printful, a print-on-demand service that makes it possible for us to offer high-quality, attractive merch items without having to front the cost. By not doing the shipping ourselves we also avoid trying to store giant boxes of merch in our tiny Chicago apartments or running to the post office in between our full-time jobs and the rest of life’s commitments.

How much of each item goes to baf?

Proceeds from each item are:

  • Giving Tuesday Sweatshirt: $5

  • Giving Tuesday Longsleeve: $5

  • Adult T-shirt: $5

  • Youth T-shirt: $4

  • Toddler T-shirt: $3

  • Beanie: $3

  • Pint Glass: $2

Can I just donate directly instead?

Absolutely. You can donate on Paypal here.

How did you set the prices?

The price of each product covers the base cost for each item and printing. We also pay fees to Stripe and Paypal whenever someone makes a purchase through those payment platforms and so we added about $1 to each product to cover those fees, helping us maintain our profits.

On top of that we added a few dollars for the donation, the exact numbers which are listed earlier on this page.

Where exactly does the money go?

Proceeds go to fund art activities in local classrooms, art/music/dance classes in Holstein park, and other things you can find out about here. It also will go to funding next year’s fest (which includes paying for things like fencing, stage rentals, park permits, artists’ merchant fees, and so much more).

Do orders ship right away?

Yes! Unlike the service we used last year for Giving Tuesday, which was based on bulk ordering, Printful, the service we’re using this year, prints and ships items immediately.

What’s the expected shipping time?

From Printful:

Our average order fulfillment takes 2–5 business days for all production techniques. U.S. shipping times are estimated as 6-11 business days.

For holiday shipping, Printful advises ordering:

  • By December 10 for December 25 arrival with standard shipping

  • By December 12 for December 25 arrival with express shipping

Why do I have to pay for shipping?

As they say, free shipping is never actually free. We could either set the price for each item higher or just let you get a good picture of the cost behind the whole process. We chose the latter.
