DONATIONS TO LOCAL CLASSROOMS
In addition to our programming at Holstein Park, we make donations to local classrooms focused on arts education. Here’s what the teachers have to say:
Dear Bucktown Arts Fest,
It makes me so happy to see that you care so much about the students of Pulaski and the strengthening of their music education. This will mean so much to the students once they hear about this. They were already so excited to hear about the Donors Choose program, but to see such quick results from a generous donor will leave them speechless.
Since you are so close to our school, this will not be the last time you hear from the Pulaski band and music program. This will be the beginning of a great relationship!
With gratitude,
Mr. G
Dear Bucktown Arts Fest,
First and foremost I want to thank you for your awesome donation!!! Because of your donation we were able toprovide many new books for my classroom. My students love every one of the new books they have received. The smiles on their faces when I told showed them all the books were priceless. They couldn’t wait to get their little hands on them!
The books you donated will add a sparkle to our current library. Reading can open up new worlds and enrich children’s lives. Reading can provide children with plenty of good, clean fun !
With gratitude,
Ms. Wayland

HOLSTEIN PARK SUMMER DAY CAMP 2011
Every Tuesday and Thursday during summer camp, the Bucktown Arts Fest provided arts education classes to the 200 Holstein Park Summer Camp kids, ages 6-12. As part of the camp, the kids designed and put together a fantastic mosaic mural, which will be placed in the foyer of the Holstein Park fieldhouse and enjoyed for years to come!
Other organizations and events funded by the Board in 2011 include:
In 2005, to commemorate the Bucktown Arts fest’s 20th anniversary, a multi-year effort was launched to install a permanent sculpture in the playground in Holstein Park.
In 2011, after careful consideration, the Board decided to release these funds in order to use them to better meet the needs of the community, including a $25,000 commitment to aid in the renovation project at Holstein Park.
