Jump Into June at the Park

Summer is here and there’s no better way to enjoy the warm weather than spending the day at Holstein Park! Poolside or parkside, here’s what’s happening this month.

Friday, June 15 - Holstein Pool Opens
The Holstein Pool opens for the summer June 15 and will remain open through Labor Day. Detailed schedules can be found online at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com. Please remember that flip-flops and floaties are not allowed in the Holstein Park pool.

Family Swim
Weekdays: 9-10:45 AM and 4-5:45 PM
Weekends: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 3:30 – 4:45 PM

Open Swim
Weekdays: 1 – 3:45 PM
Weekends: 12:30 – 3:45 PM

Lap Swim
Weekdays: 7-8:45 AM and 6-7:15 PM
Weekends: 9-10:15 AM and 6:15-7:15 PM

Learn to Swim (ages 6 – 13)
Saturdays and Sundays 5 – 6 PM
(free, but waiting list)

Monday, June 25 - Summer Day Camp Begins
Holstein Park’s popular summer day camp starts June 25 and runs every weekday through August 3. Three days of art and music classes for all ages will be provided each week by the Bucktown Arts Fest.

Thursday, June 21 - Music in The Park
3 – 5 PM
Enjoy music in the park on the ball field south of the fieldhouse on June 21. Call park supervisor Shannon English (312-742-7554) to find out who is playing.

Saturday, June 30 - Holstein 100:
Celebrating 100 Years of Holstein Park Fieldhouse
11 AM – 7 PM
A big, birthday bash is being thrown by Friends of Holstein Park to celebrate our fieldhouse, which was built in 1912. Beer, bands and tasty treats from Chicago’s growing legion of gourmet food trucks will be featured at this celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Holstein Park fieldhouse. Bring the kids!
