Quiet Please: Mosaic In Process

The kids of Summer Day Camp 2011 have created a spectacular new mosaic which will grace the foyer of Holstein Park!

The campers began by placing paper tiles into the shapes required and soon moved on to gluing the actual tiles. Every age group participated – from 6 to 13!

On the last day of camp, August 4, they showed off their progress to their family and friends before the end of camp talent show.

Led by Bucktown Arts Fest Committee member and artist Connie Hinkle, the mosaic will feature the logos of the Bucktown Arts Fest, Friends of Holstein Park and Bucktown Community Organization. A special thanks goes out to Dick Blick Art Supplies for helping to make an idea a reality!

The end result is truly gorgeous. The mosaic will be installed in the Holstein field house this fall.
